Parkland will soon to be home to Barkland.
The grand opening for the city’s first dog park is 12 noon on Jan. 7 at 9245 Ranch Road, next to the Parkland Library.
The two-acre park that cost $375,000 – paid with developer fees – will have separate areas for large and small dogs, a dog washing station and play equipment.
“None of our current parks are pet-friendly and so this was an opportunity to build a park for our residents that was also dog-friendly,” said Commissioner Jared Moskowitz, who said he plans on bringing Fozzie, his 7-pound Maltese poodle, for a romp.
Dogs – or owners – do not have to live in Parkland to use the park.
