City residents are invited to a native plant giveaway and guided nature walk.
The event starts at 9 a.m. June 16 with a giveaway of shrubs or flowering plants at the Doris Davis Foreman Wilderness Preserve, 7300 Parkside Drive in Parkland.
A guided tour of wetlands, pine flatwoods and an oak hammock by the Native Plant Society Broward County Chapter begins at 10 a.m. The nature tour is open to people countywide.
There is a walkway to accommodate baby strollers and wheelchairs.
The county park is managed by the city.
